Unsatisfying Labors?

____________________

Do not toil to acquire wealth;
be discerning enough to desist.

When your eyes light on it, it is gone,
for suddenly it sprouts wings,
flying like an eagle toward heaven.

- Proverbs 23:4-5

Why strive for that which is not most important, nor most valuable?  Wealth is not dependable, for it can be here one day and completely gone the next.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
- Isaiah 55:2

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- Jesus, Matthew 6:19-20
