Stinkin Irish...

Is it ever appropriate to renounce one's favorite college football team?

In my case the Fighting Irish have been my favorite football team since I was in grade school. But how in the world do you tolerate it when your team loses to a team called the orange men?

Apparently it was so bad that the fans were throwing snowballs at the Irish players. Maybe I'm not the only one considering a jump from the bandwagon.

I was at the game. It was heartbreaking.

I must encourage you to persevere though. I am still a Lions fan, and well, the Irish are still a far cry from the Lions.

Cgl is right: Thick and thin, good times and bad--true fans stick it out.

Granted, we all like to express our frustrations, and it seems pretty warranted this time.

Just expressing frustration. Like other ND fans I've endured the poor football for quite a while. Maybe someday they'll start winning again...

Does this fall under the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints?

No, the Saints play in New Orleans. :-)
